I wouldn't give it one star if I didn't have to. I echo everything already said in the other bad reviews for this salon.
I walked in to an empty salon and was greeted somewhat warmly by two girls behind the counter. I was sat down and told (I think her name was JoJo) that because my hair was long they would have to charge me and extra £7 for the cut. When I questioned this she told me her boss would be angry if she didn’t and then offered to take it down to £5. I reluctantly agreed as I needed the cut before I left for holiday the next day.
With no gown I was taken to the basins where she washed the top part of my head – not sides or underneath. My Wahanda voucher was for a wash, treatment and blow-dry and when I reminded her of the treatment she seemed put out. Anyway, she applied the treatment, wrapped my hair in a towel and sat me under the heated hood for 10 mins. With no gown on I spent 10 minutes dripping onto my clothes – they didn’t even notice this. I was offered a glass of awful tea but other than that, no offer of anything else.
10 mins late she rinsed off the treatment, then gowned me up
She hacked away at my hair for approximately 7 minutes, yawning as she went, telling me she was so tired (it was 3pm). There was no shape to the cut, even the layers were blunt. The blow-dry was appalling. When I left the salon the top of my head was still damp. I didn't complain, I wanted to get out of there as soon as possible. Needless to say I didn’t leave a tip.
I called Wahanda straight away, they were of little help and wouldn’t refund for this ‘service’ - Apparently they called the salon to discuss this 'extra payment' they seem to be charging clients who buy wahanda vouchers and I was told that Pat or Pam or someone would call me back to discuss this awful experience but 5 weeks later and I still haven't received that call.
This Salon is missing a trick, it could be fabulous but you need a bit of atmosphere and most importantly stylists who know how to wash, cut and dry hair! I have since had my hair fixed by my usual salon and I will never return to Eclipz, I’ve been sure to let my Bromley friends know what a dire place this is. I have since found out that the new owner has no experience in hairdressing. How they can open this salon in Aveda's name, I don't know.
I had the paraffin wax pedicure. Not sure that the paraffin wax did anything to my feet at all - it was too hot going on and they really didn't feel any different afterwards. My polish was chipped after 2 days - that never happens. I think that only an undercoat and 1 coat of nail varnish was applied. The pedicuist rushed off to treat someone else, which I don't mind, but I feel that perhaps she forgot to finish my pedicure - I unfortunately wasn't paying attention! I won't be visiting again unfortunately.
