The waxing was thorough and quick. Downstairs small treatment room. A little painful - not sure what wax was used but more pain than usual. Overall a good experience.
Unfortunately, I did not have a great experience with my hair cut. I booked the appointment two weeks in advance, and received multiple messages (email and text) to confirm and remind me of my appointment. I turned up, only to be told that my appointment wasn't on the system, but that they would fit me in anyway.
The hairdresser did not seem pleased (to say the least) when she was told (she had two other customers that she was working on at the time). I waited around 15 minutes, before I was ushered off to have my hair washed, without a chat with the hairdresser first. The water temperature wasn't right during the whole session (and I don't usually complain about something like water temperature - but it was burning my head!) Some sort of leave in conditioner was added to my hair, and then I was left under the dryer for around 10-15 mins, whilst the hairdresser was attending to the other customers.
My first conversation with the hairdresser was all about products that I could buy rather than what I wanted done with my hair. By now, I didn't want much else than to leave, so I asked for a trim, but to be honest, I really couldn't tell the difference. I had so much product put in my hair before and after it was dried that it made me want to wash it all over again as soon as I got home. I was also charged a different price than the one on the confirmation email, but by that time, I just wanted to leave. Very disappointed my experience at this venue.
Unfortunately the cause of my satisfaction isn't really the hairdressers fault
The salon was busy when I arrived, only one hairdresser working and a receptionist who was quiet bordering on uncommunicative. The hairdresser explained that she was running a little behind (tbh the customers in front of me we being really picky and slowing her down)
Half an hour later I had my hair washed...
The another half hour elapsed... with me sitting with wet hair in the chair getting colder by the minute
..An hour after my appointment time I was finally seen.
By then the hairdresser was running late and a haircut which was advertised to take an hour only took 20 minutes and was rushed... but I had waited an hour to get it.
All in all, nothing apart from a cup of tea was offered in compensation for this long waiting time.
I didn't say anything partly because I kept thinking I would be seen soon, but also there was nothing that complaining would have gotten me, it wasn't the hairdressers fault, she had been left short staffed with a receptionist who didn't even answer the phone . On top of this she had really picky clients in front of me.
I left feeling a bit short changed to be honest.
I turned up feeling really under the weather and delicate and I was greeted with a warm smiley welcome and a refreshing Aveda tea. The staff were welcoming and friendly. I had a pleasant massage followed by full head tint and blow dry. Everything was fab and I love the hair colour. The only issue I had was that the massage room was really cold, however I was given an extra blanket when I asked, so it was fine. I left feeling so much better than when I arrived. Also loved the big cups of tea!
