The staff do not communicate in a friendly way to the customers, however, they do their job very well which is good.
If i go back I would bring books, my Ipad or magazines to read because can be very boring as the staff is very quiet.
Massage and Facial were ok but nothing special or justifying to go so far out outside London, the facilities are small and both steam and sauna were out of order when I went. The management didn't feel the need to let me know before I made my way there that only part of my "spa day" would be available, they also refused to provide any compensation or rebooking so instead of a full afternoon relaxing there I ended up with an in and out experience. I will never go there again, it's not even good value for money, same prices for better services are available in central London.
We had our experience on saturday 12/12. We booked 2 weeks in advance and confirmed 2 days before.
Experience was quite good but it would be even better if the therapist can give more details on the treatment they apply and obviously being ready with products.
We had 30 min in the steamroom but had to wait 15 more minute for them to carry all the products.
Good suprise is the food included !
Overal experience is great but it's not a big deal to ask your staff to be a bit more smiley and chatty. I have spend 3 hours with a therapist she never asked me how it was or if it was great...
Rushed after a busy day at work to get to my appointment only to be made to wait 30minutes for a booked appointment... even though salon was nearly empty.
No one had apologised that I was made to wait so long which was unproffesional.
I was told on the phone I could use spa facilities before my massage, however on arrival was told suddenly I cannot use the jacuzzi as they were changing the water. -they should have arranged this after my treatment or told me on the phone rather than wait till I arrived. The steam room was completely cold as it wasn't switched on properly. When I came out freezing to ask why she told me she was switching it on again. Two minutes in to it slightly heating up my lady came in and said "do you want to get out as you are going to be late" -I found this ridiculous as I was made to wait 30mins in the first place!
There were a ton of minor mistakes on top of this and so before my massage I was annoyed and unable to relax. It was to the point i no longer wanted the massage as I felt too on edge and annoyed. I asked to speak to the manager in private, however the therapist stood right next to her the entire time which made things very awkward -complaining about someone right before they are about to massage me?!
I felt a lot of trouble was caused and the manager should have offered something to compensate or at least an apology without me needing to complain. The manager was sweet and offered me a complementary mini facial in the end, but the fact I had to complain in the salon and get angry for this to happen I think was awful.
I did not get the 'relaxing spa' feeling I was after. Also, during my massage there was a LOT of noise in the next room, people laughing, clanking plates etc. I think my room was next door to the staff room and they should consider noise levels when people are having a massage. The facial was very good and I cannot fault it at all. Last time I visited this spa, I had a massage in the same room as my mum and the women were whispering to each other which I found annoying. We also had to wait 20minutes before our treatment. I will go back for the facial, but not for any massage treatments as it was more stress than relaxing.
