This was my first wax in a long time so I was a bit apprehensive but it was actually completely fine. Maxine was really friendly and put me at ease. The treatment was quick and of course a bit painful but much easier than expected - I'll definitely do it again!
Super quick, and the lady was really lovely. Their office is literally opposite New Street station so super convenient.
I always love how the treatments are done, super clean and quick. The ladies of the staff are always amazing!
Horrible experience! I’ve been going to Finishing touches for over a year now since they moved buildings and not had any previous horrible experiences. I went in yesterday for my usual Hollywood wax. When my beauty therapist (Lisa) asked me to inspect the job, I noticed a few hairs left and asked if she could tweeze these out since she already waxed the area over (twice.) She said "we'll just go over it more than twice" and asked me to "pull' on my skin. Lisa then waxed the area and, as you may have guessed, my skin tore with it. It was painful but I didn't realise my skin ripped till she tried to place a cotton pad with water over it. The bleeding didn't stop and she rushed over to get vaseline. She then goes on to tell me that I pulled too hard :/ hmm. This wouldn't have happened if she would've tweezed the area like I suggested! What personally made it worse is when she made an ugly comment stating "it only looks bad because you're black. It wouldn't look that bad if it was on me." I'm not sure why she thought making a comment regarding the colour of my skin tone makes a torn bleeding skin look worse. NO Lisa it looks bad because I'm bleeding, NOT because I'm black. I left feeling worse than I did because she took it upon herself to blame me for the tear and say it was because of the colour of my skin. She politely added that next time I go back, I should inform them of the torn area so as to be sensitive to that area. Ha! As if they'll be a next time.
