" Sorry this is probably going to be the longest review ever, I would like to cut it short if I could but I can't but you really need to read it if your planning to have your hair coloured here!! I went to this salon last year & had my hair done by the owner (top stylist) himself, I had balayage done along with a cut & blow dry! He did a fantastic job which is why I went back to him this year (3 weeks ago) March 2015. I had quite blonde bits put in for my balayage last year, so this year I wanted the same, but blonder & higher up. When I went 3 weeks ago, he did my hair, & initially I was happy with it, but then as I got home & went back to work the next day, I thought to myself, this is not exactly what I had asked for, it was only a tad bit lighter from the blonde I had before & not high up like I had asked for, so basically what he had given me was just a touch up from what I had previously before, (just a shorter version as it was cut). So I called him a day later to tell him about it as he always does say, if your not happy, please call me & you can come back so I can fix it for you. So I called him & he was polite & said ok come back, he booked me in for an appointment a week later. So I went back on my 2nd visit for him to make the blonde higher up like I originally asked for, but I also decided to make my roots a lighter brown as I thought it would look better instead of my dark roots, which I was more than happy to pay for. He got a lady (not sure her name, was Italian) to colour my roots, but at points when she was colouring my hair, she had the brown dye on her hands (gloves) which she had used her fingers to spread & rub in the dye on my head, there was points where she used her finger's to flick over the bottom of my hair to the other side as she was going through & colouring my hair. So obviously that would mean the brown dye would go onto the bottom of my blonde ends, I didn't say anything at this point as I thought, it's too late, but I wish I had done now!! When she had finished colouring my roots, washed & dried. This is when he (the owner, top main stylist) came over to re-do my balayage, once he finished & again washed, toner put on & dried, it was now 6.30pm, & when he finished, I noticed straight away it was very patchy on my left side, & when he held the mirror up behind me, I saw a bright yellow (blonde) patch right at the top of my left side! I obviously pointed it out, & he replied "ohh, your just being fussy, that's just some staining, that will wash out!" I was like, erm I don't think any washing will get rid of these patches.... He then replied "ok, give it a few washes, if it doesn't come out then I'll fix it for you next week." I said ok nicely, & I said I'll be calling you in a few days, (which he didn't look pleased about). I didn''t wait a few days as I knew it wouldn't wash out, so I literally called him the next day, I thought I might aswell just make an appointment with him, & if it does wash out then I can just cancel it after, but atleast I'll have my appointment booked. So i called him, I said "Hi (name), it's me Hayley from yesterday, can I please book an appointment with you for the weekend. He then raised his voice & said, look you can't keep coming back like this, now your complaining about the colour!!" I replied saying "no, I'm happy with the colour, it's just the patches I'm not happy with." He said "fine, I'll get someone else to fix it but I'm not going to do it!!" I replied saying, "No, I want you to fix it, & I said if you looked at my hair right now, you would admit yourself that the patches are bad & you told me yesterday that you would fix it for me." He then said, "ok ok, fine, just call me after you've washed it a few times. So I washed it 3 times & called him back a few days later, when he first picked up the phone, I said it was me Hayley, he said he was in a meeting & would call me back... 3 hours later he still hadn't called me back, so again I called him & said it was me, he answered & said nicely, Oh I told (name) (treceptionist-manager) to email you when I'll be free, has she not done so yet, I said no, he said she will email me, so I said ok thanks! 2 days later, I still didn't receive an email from her, so this time I decided to call but speak with her as she's a really lovely lady, & I thought it'd be better if I just booked it through her, So i called & she answered thankfully, I explained my situation to her & said (name) was being a bit difficult, & said if I could please be booked in for that Sunday or the next week as I hadn't been able to have my hair down all week at work, I had to have it tied half way up to hide my patches! she said she will check with him & get back to me as he wasn't there at that time. 2 days later, I still didn't get a phone call & was so fed up by this point & was actually getting stressed from it, I thought just the thought of having to call again & hear him speak to me rudely would send me over the roof, as he already made me angry! so I thought let me get my Italian friend to call him for me, maybe he would be more understanding with her, so she called him for me, & he said, "why are you calling for her". My friend said because she's been really stressed out over this & you haven't replied to her at all. He then said to her the same thing, I don't want to do her hair, she's never happy, I've spent a total of 10 hours on her hair, I don't want to work for free!! My friend explained yes I understand, but the problem is the patches you've left in her hair, their really bad. At some point the phone line cut off... then someone called her back, but not him himself, another Italian guy (name) that works there, & he apologized & said the phone got cut off but (name) is with a customer now. But I can book your friend in & I will fix her hair, he said I understand she wanted (name) top stylist, but we're all hairdressers here so I can also do the job! He said don't worry, (name) will be here to supervise me!! My friend said ok & it was booked! I went a few days later with my friend for the appoinment, as I walked in with my friend, (name) looked at us, kind of came over to say Hi, but to my friend, not really me, & said take a seat... he (the other guy) will be with you shortly. Not even 5min later, (name) had his coat on & left the shop, he told (the other guy) he's going to the airport now in Italian... he said bye to us & that was it!! So what I have to say about (name) is that he's terribly unprofessional!! if you stay on his good side then yeah he's great, he's nice to you! But if you get on his bad side, as in if you tell him something negative, he will be horrible to you! He didn't even want to admit to his mistake that he did on my hair nor correct it! A normal professional hairdresser would want to keep a good reputation & keep their customers happy, & fix your hair especially if they've made a mess of it!! Not avoid your calls & walk out the shop as soon as you arrive! He is one of the rudest man I have ever met.. I know this from the way he spoke to his previous staff members last year. What annoyed me is the fact he tried to get someone else to fix his mistakes, I didn't want no one else to do it because he's meant to be the most experienced one there, & if he can't do a good job, I doubt the rest can! & he's complaining to my friend that he doesn't want to work for "free", but at the end of the day I paid quite a lot of money, so if he's put patches in my hair, he should want to fix it! & your probably all wondering what happened in the end, did the other guy manage to fix the patches, he said he'd put brown dye to cover most of the patches as far down as it needed to be covered, so I agreed, he ended up using foil & looked like he was doing lowlights?! So in the end, I still had the patches visible!! obviously I gave up... he said he was unable to do anything else & said sorry & that was it! I had to go somewhere else the next day & have my patches covered up with a much darker brown to hide it!! This guy at this other hair salon has said this is one of the most disastrous hair muck up that he's ever seen!! Thankfully he has gotten rid of all the patches for me!! "
Really nice staff, nice music playing! Take time to do things well, you feel relax. (Almost fell asleep during the shampoo with the too comfortable armchair)
Have been here twice now - once for full balayage colour including wash, cut and blow-dry, second time for a balayage colour touch up. Used Angelo as a stylist on both occasion and have been very happy with him. Angelo really listens to what you want and he would recommend the best colour and cut that suits you. Have been very satisfied with customer service and hair service provided - highly recommend and would return as love Angelo's magic hands.
It was different then I had expected. Something I liked was that it was straight to the point and the stylist and owner consulted me himself. However I did not feel comfortable and felt like the stylist was more concerned about priced than giving me happy results. Usually when I enter salons I leave with exactly what i want. In this case I left confused and in search of another salon. It was quiet different then back home in Dubai were you always leave flawless! To focus on that point; instead of the stylist working with me to give me what I want he was putting me off and i left with nothing.
I booked this appointment for my boyfriend and he loved this salon. He got a great haircut and spoke very highly of the stylist and of the salon generally. He will definitely be returning as he really enjoyed the experience.
