Very friendly and relaxed in there, and I probably had the least awkward experience chatting to a hairdresser than I've had in a while! But, they were so relaxed that they didn't really seem too aware of their bookings, and took my word for it that I'd booked via treatwell for the time I told them. My hairdresser had come in from and break and was quickly assigned to me, which gave me more of a sense that this was a place that doesn't really plan!
To be honest, I could tell that they had really happy customers there and for a small place there was a lot of chat. But during my haircut I became increasingly on edge. During the hair wash water was running down my face, and I was just given a bit of kitchen roll. I decided to trust my hairdresser (who actually never told me her name... It's the little things!) as I was cutting my hair into a bob again after a while. She was excitedly putting volume into it and adding layers, and overall it looks fine, but the haircut lacked precision. She didn't make my parting right before cutting and never checked that the lengths were the same on both sides of my face. I was doing that throughout to nudge her to even it up. Since coming back I've noticed that the shaping around my face has been done at a different angle on each side so it looks obviously wrong. As it's quite short I don't dare to try and correct this myself.
The lady did however really put the effort into styling it. She spent a while curling after I told her I wanted it wavy but the curls were too big and I ended up with essentially ringlets. I was apprehensive but she hairsprayed it anyway. I was unhappy so she blow dryed it out so it was straighter but it didn't really work, even with a serum. Some bits of my hair were refusing to uncurl properly!!
I paid the price anyway, as it's cheap for the area. Ultimately, it got the cut mostly right and it did feel very smooth and loved. But I'm not going back.
