I wasn't too happy with this gel manicure compared to past experiences at other salons.
1. Firstly my fingers were soaked in acetone for 5 mins to remove my previous gel varnish (this hurt the skin on my fingers - don't understand why they couldn't have wrapped it in foil like other places).
2. Secondly I was not asked which nail shape I would like (I always have them round as I prefer it, it's more natural fore) and all nails were filed square. To the nail technician's credit, once I noticed and told her, she did file them all round. However my nails were originally quite nice and long, which I wanted to keep them like as I have my engagement party this weekend. As they were filed square then round, they have become significantly shorter.
3. Thirdly the finish wasn't very professional on all of the nails and I had to point it out. Even now, the surface of two nails still look a little bit bumpy (looks like there are some shadows if that makes sense.. in the light, the nail does not look smoothly pink as it should)
It may sound as if I'm being a bit perfectionist which is fair enough but I feel that having paid £25 for the service, it should have been a completely professional finish (I'm a little disappointed especially as I have an important event coming up this weekend). I just feel as though the nail technician did not put as much care and attention into the service as I've received elsewhere. However this is not to say she was rude - she was perfectly nice, I'm just disappointed with the lack of focus and care.
