The GLN salon is cute and clean and I was really excited when I discovered something so close to my flat with good reviews...but I'm sorry to say I won't be returning. At other salons I've been to, getting a gel manicure was a spa-like, rewarding experience, but not here. The nail artist assigned to me made no effort to be gentle when removing previous gel and filing my nails, even when I pulled my hand back with an audible hiss because she was being rough. She was rude and had to be begged for everything: When I asked to see a particular color up close, she coldly told me to look in the colour book (at other salons, they even show you the colour on your nails to give you a better idea), when asked for an additional coat because my chosen colour was quite see-through, she looked at me as if I was crazy (this would be suggested by the nail artist herself at most salons) and when I asked her to check/file the edges after so they wouldn't peel off, similar reaction and no compliance (this is also standard) and I left with polish all over my nail bed. She was in an obvious rush to get it over with - although there was no other customer waiting for her - and so was I, because I got fed up with her behavior. I would have much preferred to give a raving review, but have never been treated this poorly at a London nail salon. If you're after a quick and cheap mani and don't care about minimal friendliness, this could work for you though. Gel removal is included in the price if you re-apply, so can't fault the value for money aspect.
