Was not informed the changing room is unisex. Towel are too small to use. Make sure you are booking a whole day spa day and not half day. Felt very rushed and didn’t get a chance to relax with my sister.
The steam room was out of service and we were not notified beforehand of this otherwise we could have cancelled! We drove all the way there to find one of the most enjoyed parts of the spa experience, the steam room, was out of service?! The outdoor pool was not at hot as it was last time. There were kids there with their parents, which I found quite a nuisance as you go to a spa experience for the quiet and serenity.
The massage was lovely and very relaxing… couldn’t fault that. Unfortunately the steam room was out of order, our room was very poorly sound proofed and we could hear other guests in adjacent rooms very clearly and late at night. Breakfast was poor… no fresh fruit, no natural yoghurt, no pastries. Staff in the restaurant were very slow to seat us both at afternoon tea and breakfast.
The treatment was great but I did feel it was rather expensive. There were also last minute changes to the timings of the appointments which impacted my enjoyment of the other spa facilities.
There were 60 steps to go up and down to access our room, and carry our luggage. Luckily we didn't have mobility problems but I don't remember seeing any indication of this when we booked. The food was good but the menu was the same at each meal. The afternoon rea was good.
