I was really impressed with the value for money. The hotel was small but very well presented and clean. The staff were all very polite and attentive and a little more personable than large hotels which was lovely. The spa facilities were all working well and perfect for our needs. I’ve been to a lot of spa days only to turn up and the sauna or steam room is out of action. Massages were great and the environment was nice and warm. Afternoon tea was lovely and and the bar was beautiful.
Afternoon tea and massage treatments lovely. Andrew the receptionist at the pool wasn’t prepared - gave us robes and wet towels. The changing rooms were filthy and the laundry piled up.
Pool was nice and outdoor hot tub fantastic.
Our therapists were great.
The spa was lovely, especially the Vitality Pool - we spent nearly an hour in it, pure heaven. The other facilities were very good too - the sauna, steam room, jacuzzi and swimming pool. The gym was well equipped, the only negative was that the changing room could have been cleaner, and seating improved, as the floor was quite wet!
The Afternoon Tea was scrummy, a lovely end to a lovely day.
Out-of-season meant that kitchen/restaurant service was a bit erratic but the food was excellent. Reception staff who are asked for Spa towels need to tell clients of the need for a pound coin for a locker. Spa reception staff are sometimes there, sometimes not...a staffing problem ? In our room, a wardrobe drawer contained an ( empty ) wine bottle left by a previous guest. Wall lights either side of the bed point at the ceiling, not downward as reading lights. Beautiful field view from room 7.
