I wrote an email to the manager of guildford Manor after my visit but have not yet received a reply. I detailed a number of points which definitely needed inprovement. I tried to cut and paste my email to this box but it isn't big enough.
Basically, I was disappointed. Key points:
- cold, wet towels on massage bed
- children in spa area when they shouldn't be
- poor dessert at lunch
- poor attention to detail - empty tissue and hand towel dispensers
The robes did not fit and were poor condition. Robes should be large size to fit all.
The towels were poor worn out quality, need to be renewed.
Reception under staffed. Had to wait more than 10 minutes before we were seen as he was making coffee for guests, were then late for treatment.
Did not get given robes on arrival.
Was not told about £1 for lockers.
Changing area rather worn and needs to be updated, preferable single sex.
Door dirty on sauna and steam rooms.
Jacuzzi not that clean.
This hotel has real potential and was generally very good. However some things were just not up to scratch and need to be addressed.
On the plus side the rooms were nice, clean and the hotel is nicely decorated set in well kept gardens. However, service and general cleanliness I thought was pretty lame. There seems to be no experienced staff coordinating the day to day running. Food service is slow and both the restaurant and pool area including jacuzzi need a good clean.
