The customer service at the hotel was very poor and I did not find the staff friendly at all. Upon my arrival the receptionist did not point out key areas to me and assumed I knew. He told me to go straight up the stairs and that I would find my room. After this I had to find someone to show me where the spa was. For dinner the staff were trying to put pressure on me to have dinner at a certain time. Generally little to no conversation and very poor customer service. I wouldn’t go back.
The venue was nicely decked out but there very few staff, some were in need of training except for the head receptionist (sorry didn’t get her name) she was exceptional and dealt with some major issues with good grace and professionalism.
The rooms were very nice, comfortable and nicely decorated.
The food was excellent, the staff in the restaurant were on the whole attentive.
The spa area was nice, pool on the cool side, sadly the inside jacuzzi had been drained and the sauna turned off!
The Guildford Manor is a lovely hotel unfortunately the receptionist upon arrival said our rooms were not available & will let us know when they were. He insisted on a booking fee of £50 which I refused to pay as I had already booked on line and also paid for the experience upfront. He was particularly unfriendly and unhelpful. Another receptionist came over and said this was fine I did not have to pay. We were not told when the rooms were ready & had to take our cases up 2 flights of stairs
