This was the most expensive 50-minute facial I've had, so I was expecting tip-top treatment in luxurious surroundings. Instead the venue and salon felt a little tired. I was made aware prior to my visit that my treatment would be carried out by a man so I was prepared for that. But he yawned several times during my facial and his breath smelt a bit stale which was rather off-putting. I never felt fully relaxed during the treatment but my skin felt amazing afterwards so he did a good job overall.

Really lovely experience but same-sex changing rooms were small and very outdated. No plug sockets so you could not plug in hair straighteners or dryer… not fit for for purpose.

Positives - comfortable room, great food and restaurant staff. Excellent Swedish massage + therapists.
Minor issues: there wasn't a great coordination between Spabreaks and the hotel staff e.g. we had robes included but had to ask for them at reception. I had booked a 'small romantic gesture' but had to ask for it and it ended up being prosecco and two small individual truffles - which wasn't great value for money. Our room was also delayed in being ready for the 3pm check-in time.

It's an older building so you can expect some things not to be perfect, but in general great experience, amazing massage!
