I chose this salon based on the great reviews on Treatwell but unfortunately the experience I had here was certainly not a good one. I don't know much about hair colouring as I have done my hair myself for a long time due to bad experiences at other salons in the past, so when I arrived at Escape I was very nervous. I explained my previous hair colouring experiences at other salons to Louise who insisted that I didn't need to worry. I asked for a balayage staying dark on top and lighter on the ends, showing several photos to illustrate what I was hoping for. I am aware that hair is unpredictable when it comes to lightening and based on what colours your hair has in it the result can be different (this was not communicated clearly at the start, only afterwards when I complained) but I did not anticipate the end result. The bottom half of my hair was bright yellow and the "balayage" was just blocks of yellow. The blow dry made my ends very dry and before leaving I asked how I can get rid of this yellow, I was told "you can use a purple shampoo". (no toner was put on my hair to attempt to tone the yellow down either - I would have happily paid for this if it meant leaving with a better colour). Three days on from this appointment and my hair feels more dry than ever before. After complaining, Louise offered to re-do my hair free of charge but I have lost all trust in this salon and I will not be back. I am going on holiday on Thursday and thankfully I have an appointment with my local hairdresser to fix this mess tomorrow! The only positive thing about the experience was the lovely girl who washed my hair and offered me a tea or coffee, magazines, etc. Worst salon experience of my life, I do not recommend this salon at all.

Great wee salon, nice cut and blow dry, staff very friendly and welcoming. Lovely trainee who washed my hair, very professional, would recommend and will definitely be back

Louise always does an amazing job with my hair, I received a lot of compliments on the color and style. The other girls were also lovely and provided complimentary prosecco and coffee. Great experience overall and would recommend Louise to anyone.
