I've been here twice now for deep tissue massage. First with Wahanda, which was so good that I then bought three more massages in advance with the salon as a deal on offer. This really is a great value massage with an excellent, very firm technique. Basic venue yes, but clean and they make the effort with ambient music and a few nice touches. Will may not be the usual spa therapist, but he is clearly very good at his job and takes interest and pride in his work, noticing and commenting on tense areas without me saying anything, and when I did mention a problem area, he altered the massage to really work on it. I didn't think he could make a difference, but he really did! Will makes you feel comfortable and not rushed. He doesn't speak fluent English but enough to communicate, and he is polite, good natured and respectful. The hairdresser also seems nice, and the clients I've seen her with appear to be happy regulars. Highly recommended if you want a very decent local massage and possibly hairdresser too. I have two more pre-purchased massages already booked and expect to be buying more.
Had a wash cut and blow dry. The stylist English wasn't great so as I tried to explain what I wanted, she was agreeing, but I felt she didn't understand what I really wanted. Saying this she cut it well and I was happy with the results.
Overall, very nice. Just keep in mind the masseur is male which some women might find uncomfortable. I also thought there was a lack of flexibility. There's a standard program he has and when asked to e.g. do some more back & skip the arms he refused. Also, when he found some shoulder tension he didn't really work on it, instead saying to come back another time for a deeper massage. Overall, nice massage and good variation of more and less pressure. Relaxing.
It may not look like much from the outside, but the quality of the hairdressing is exceptional especially for the price. The ladies are thorough they won't let you go until your hairstyle is perfect.
You take a bit of a risk booking deep tissue - from prervious experience it can be either a slightly more intense massage than swedish, or it could be more like sports massage and therefore pretty painful. Here it was the second, which is fine if you want that, but I'm not a fan myself. But despite leaving bruised and sore, I can't complain about the service - Will (note this is a male therapist - didn't bother me, but others might like to know) seemed to know his stuff and wanted to help.
