Horrible Experience
Really disappointed with this one. Bought a wowcher for a Brazilian keratin treatment, and was practically forced to pay £20 more upon arrival because the one on the voucher isn't actually a "real" keratin treatment and the term is just used to bring people in – this is in Mary's words (the owner). I felt really pressured into buying the more expensive treatment as I was repeatedly told the original one I bought would have no effect. The pricier treatment did NOTHING for my hair except leave it in a terrible condition – frizzy and ruined. I sent pictures over to Mary, who acknowledged this and told me to come back in so she could re-do it, but when I'd try book an appointment she ignored my calls and emails. She did offer me one slot, but it was a week day mid-morning – I explained I had a full-time job and I couldn’t miss several hours for a haircut, and asked for literally any evening slot or weekend – she continuously ignored my emails and calls, and then four weeks later told me because so much time had past that she’d have to charge me full price again for the treatment which completely ruined my hair! Overall, I spent nearly £100 pounds on the treatment plus a trim that came out crooked.
I am so disappointed with the whole experience, and the treatment was so bad that I had to pay £200 at another salon to fix it and take off six inches because it was so ruined. They said they didn’t know what on earth had been used on my hair.
I don't like to badmouth businesses, but I called and emailed Mary so many times to try resolve this with her, and I told her I planned to make a complaint if we couldn’t solve it. She acknowledged she made a mistake and then ignored all my attempts to rectify the situation. I contacted Wowcher and they were unable to get her to reply messages as well, so they refunded me the value of the Wowcher, although I paid more than double its value in store with Mary’s various add ons.
I have been doing Brazilian keratin treatments for 9 years and I know one when I see one. This was NOT one.
