I can usually find a positive from any situation, but not this time, I am so extremely disappointed by this treatment. Have already spoken to the hotel, and they are acting on the feedback, less than 5 hours after us giving it. But just to record here too:
Neither ‘therapist’ introduced themselves, there was no pre-treatment chat, the massages took place in a hotel room with 2 couches, one of the therapists asked about pressure, the other one did not speak at all; I ended up asking for a firm massage, instead a got a back rub with some oil, having had many Swedish massages before, some of the movements were unusual to say the least!
All over the floor were nail clippings, we asked if the room had been used for pedicures, the answer was no a filthy and not pleasant to look at through the hole in the couch!
No water offered after the massage, no after treatment advice, in fact they were both outside the room on their phones, when we had been sat waiting for hem to come back in, but got bored of waiting and opened the door.
The treatment was booked as a 30 minute massage; it lasted less than 25 minutes. In fact we were back in our room at the time our treatment should have finished, having got dressed, waited for the lift, decided to use the stairs and walked to the other side of the hotel!
Beautiful hotel and lovely massage but my treatment was carried out in a converted bedroom which had simply had the bed removed (room 301) which had zero ambience (the lights were off apart from the bathroom), the carpet was poorly laid with extra pieces laid on top of each other (not normally something I’d comment on but this was my view through the massage bed for best part of an hour) and the air con was on maximum making the room really cold. Shame as the masseuse was nice (she never mentioned her name) and the massage itself was good. Not sure what the “normal” spa facilities are like but this had a distinctly temporary feel!
Liked - Cool drink available on arrival, and fruit in the after treatment room - therapist also very polite and nice.
Did not like - Very limited choice of colours for a manicure, "waiting on new stock" I was told
Salon does not offer a French manicure which I thought would be a standard.
No clear undercoat, I was told this is the "new approach and its not needed, as will all take too long to dry" - I always thought an undercoat was there to protect nails from discoloration from the chosen colour - I will have to wait until I remove in a weeks time to see if staining of the nail has occurred.
Also told the manicure would last at least 7 days if looked after, I had one chip the next morning.
My therapist had lovely long nails, but all of them were very badly chipped where she had been picking them, this just looked awful so unprofessional for any therapist, let alone an establishment that charges such high prices for a very minimal manicure and considers itself high end .
