You (almost) get what you pay for - this isn't really a deal because the pool is dirty, the steam room smells funny, I didn't see a sauna, the hotel is dated and the confusion over our booking made it stressful. The food and wait staff were ok but we had to pay for our drinks at the table (can't charge to your room) which was awkward. I'll spend more next time and not fall for an el cheapo like this one.
The hotel, room, food, staff and treatments were lovely however the spa facilities are well in need of updating. The pool looked as though it needed a good scrub and the spa pool needs changing to a jacuzzi as I don't think anyone can find it relaxing lying in bubbles at pool temperature.
We absolutely loved our treatments . We were treated so well by the bubbly enthusiastic staff in the salon . We were greeted by Kay who was so approachable friendly and genuinely interested in us . Treatments for me and my friend Sue were given by Sarah n Pippa and we were all allowed in the room for girlie time . I had my hair washed and blow dried by Steve and he went out of his way to fit me in and he did a great job adding volume to my fine flyaway hair. Thanks to everyone for making our visit a good experience .
Excellent way to spend Christmas gift voucher from parents, enjoying Valentine's 'treat' with husband. The experience met my expectations in that we got away for a night and had quality time together without the responsibility of caring for elderly parents. The service throughout was first class although the gentleman trying to check us in had difficulty finding the reservation until the receptionist came back to the desk and checked us in without delay.
We had dinner and breakfast and the food was excellent on both occasions. (Not sure what happened to the puff pasty case in my starter but didn't make a thing about it as everything else was delicious and VERY filling.)
We'd have ventured on a walk in the park and nature reserve next door if the weather had been better and we'd taken our walking shoes. However, the pool and steam room filled the time and the pedicure was excellent. The gym/fitness suite looked good too, but a bit too energetic for us!
The only thing I would have altered was the heating in the bedroom; it was much too hot to sleep comfortably.
