I had a great time with my husband at Norwich Mercure. The location is reasonable. The staff were great and friendly. The food was good. The steam room was the best. Overall nice experience
Would definitely come back again and recommend to friends. Dinner was great! Everything we ordered was delicious! Breakfast is better than expected. Not just buffet but you can order what you want from the menu too! Staff, although skeleton, were very helpful.
To be fair one of our group is disabled with walking stick, we have stayed in another Mercure hotel before and my family agree with my review.
Good: A shortish journey to central Norwich and about 40 min. Drive to Cromer or The Broads.
Free parking. Spa with pool steam and sauna.
Air con in room. Bar,spa diner all near reception. Tv. Free wifi.
Correct disabled room with sit down shower.
Good breakfast and could order specials at no extra charge. E.g.. Eggs benedict .
Bad:. Spa had about 19 steps down. Too much for me and the wheelchair lift was switched off.
No easily available bags for wet clothes. No anti slip mats on very wet floor on way to sauna and steam room.
Weird opening hours. Opening at 9am when you cannot use facilities after breakfast safely.
Should be open at 8am for guest convenience.
No safe. Mismatched furniture red leather and green cloth chairs and a table that would be better off in a junk shop. Our friends twin only had one chair and no table. Nowhere to put suitcases.
Tasteless evening meals, Tuna, Sea Bass and ultra tough belly pork..
Had to wait because there was no staff to book us in for meals.
When asked for warm rolls were told no more only cold ones (we fidget them warmed).
Scalding hot plates even with serviettes ( breakfast).
Staff did not know we had booked two breakfast and two evening meals so was charged £101 for the meals (sorted later) and charged for 5 sweets for 4 people.( sorted later).
Poor dining atmosphere.
Disabled toilet in bar did not have correct left hand support and the hot water was very hot.
