Firstly, this isn’t a criticism of Cyan. The small salon was clean and the location was handy for me. I am sure that as they have two locations in the city they are successful in lots of hair and beauty treatments.
I booked a £20 ‘removal of acrylic’ nails. I had taken the time to note that not all salons offer this service as it’s not the same as gel polish removal. When I arrived the technician immediately told me that they didn’t have the necessary file type to remove them correctly and that Treatwell hadn’t been updated to reflect that they were a new employee (presumably with a different skill set/equipment?). I can’t fault the effort that she put in to trying to remove them, but 1.5 hours later it was like an overly enthusiastic friend scraping away at my nails and I was desperate to get away. I really wish that the salon had been honest, apologised for advertising something that they aren’t equipped to do, and refunded my money.
Lauren was so friendly and down to earth from the get go. She made me feel relaxed and took her time to figure out exactly what I wanted. The cut and blowdry were fab and the head massage was divine!
