overall very good the main meal was a little disappointing, for the money that was paid I would return and do this package again, afternoon tea was fantastic!
Myself and my partner had a one night spa break at the LivingWell Health Club in the Bracknell Hilton last week. I cannot stress enough that the LivingWell Health Club is not a spa and does not resemble a spa in the slightest. Do not arrange to stay here if you are looking for a relaxing spa break, as it is no more spa-like than a council-run swimming pool. We arrived in the morning to be greeted by a leisure assistant who did not inform us of the facilities or tell us how to access them, despite us saying that we had booked the spa break and had not visited before. The swiming pool was cold, as was the 'bubble pool', which was on a timer, the steam room was ok but the sauna was like a broom cupboard and the pool area itself was cold. It was not possible to get a drink without getting changed back into your clothes and heading out through the gym to the health club reception, unless you were happy to drink from a tap over a dirty sink with a hose pipe and plastic sign in the way of it. We attempted to have lunch at the hotel bar, only for a group of toddlers to arrive and start running around and screaming, we both understand that kids will be kids, but it didn't exactly add to the ambience. We therefore asked the receptionist if there was anywhere outside of the hotel to have lunch and she responded by saying 'down the road' and was reluctant to elaborate. The treatment was nice (my partner and I both had a massage), but only afterwards during the late afternoon did any of the staff tell us to 'enjoy our stay' - in my view this was to help manage expectations! We headed back to the pool area at 3.30pm, only for a group of small children to arrive at 4pm onwards for their swimming lessons in the pool. We both agreed that as far as the 'spa' was concerned we felt that we were in the way of the staff and felt like we were an inconvenience for the duration of the day. The hotel room itself wasn't bad, although you do have to pay £15 a night for WiFi, which seems absolutely extortionate! We received a complimentary fruit platter, although it was disappointing to find that some of the fruit had gone off quite some time ago. The evening meal was nice and the staff were great and really friendly. All in all the package that we purchased was great value for money as we had a nights stay, evening meal and accommodation. However, the LivingWell Health Club Offers spa breaks, when neither the facilities or the customer services come close to what one might expect from a spa. My advice would be not to visit for a spa day or break, as you will be thoroughly disappointed.
Great deal at Hilton Bracknell, the Hotel and facilities were OK, but the swimming pool was small and had lots of kids. Also the hot tub was not a hot tub as the water was cold and did not work all the time - kids did actually use it.
I had a stay with Dinner Breakfast and a massage booked through Lastminute.com. Given what i paid it was good value. However the details provided advised that dinner was a 2 course meal. When i got there it was buffet. I stayed with a friend that has severe allergies so given that foods/spoons can get mixed we had to skip dinner as to not risk an allergic reaction. Also in general it was quite disappointing to be promised a 2 course meal but then discover its a buffet. I would have thought that given its a Hilton Hotel buffet would not have been option. However i have not stayed in a Hilton before so i maybe expected more than i should have. Once we dsicovered the food was not suitable for my friend we drank our drinks that we were offered by the waitress and left. At checkout i am then advised that i needed to pay for these drinks, but i was not told when the waitress asked us for our drink order that that this was not included in the price we paid. Given that we had not even eaten a meal i was very upset to then be told i needed to settle the bill. The receptionist was very nice and waived this. Which was appreciated but due to this although the hotel was lovely and i enjoyed the massage very much, i was disappointed.
Really enjoyed our massage. Afternoon tea was lovely. Food was good however the service in the restaurant was very slow and could be improved.
