Outwardly, everything seemed fine. Worries started when my wife found two enormous black hairs in the bathroom. If either of my daughters had been the guest, they would have been heading for the exit at this point!
The pillows in the bed were far too soft, providing no support for sleeping.
The food on the first evening was very good and the service was very good.
The next day, whoever cleaned the room was kind enough to only leave us with one enormous black hair in the bathroom.
Service in the restaurant on Sunday evening was really poor. The staff were clearly over run by the number of people that were eating and it took over two hours for us to have our three course meal, and then only because we spoke up about waiting over half an hour for a dessert menu. Another couple close by waited even longer for their main course to be served, and again, only got it that quickly because the gentleman left his seat to speak to a member of staff. The manager of the restaurant did give my wife a complimentary glass of wine by way of compensation.
Service was again overstretched at breakfast the next morning.
I would not criticise the staff in the restaurant who worked really hard trying to hold things together. The fact is that service was not up to scratch and management must bear the responsibility. If more people turn up than was anticipated, there should be a plan in place so that the customers are not given third rate service.
This was a special booking to celebrate our 30th Wedding Anniversary and I feel that we were short-changed!
When we got there, the views and the grounds took out breath away. The staff were helpful and friendly, and rooms were clean, with lovely views. The restaurant was excellent, again with friendly staff.
We had very good stay in Puckrup Hall and would go back any time.
We had a very nice walk a round the grounds and the facilities are very good

The facilities were ok, nothing extraordinary, even though I had mentioned about birthday and we received free one drink vouchers. Vegetarian option is limited and though they said that the chef will do something this was not done. Treatment last only 25minutes and for the 2 night package this is no value for money. Swimming was full of children at weekends. Robes were provided , but only on request. so not impressed for the particular weekend we chose or was it the time of the year. Comparatively this was an expensive break at nearly £300 with limited dinner choice, only 45 hours stay, and less treatment included and felt a little embassed to keep asking for things
