I'd booked for 2 rooms and when we arrived there was only one room booked for us. They did have another room available but it was over an hours wait. The massage was lovely but it was 15 minutes and not half hour. They counsider it half hour from when you start filling out the forms. We all had steaks for our evening meal and all the meals were cold and had to be returned. We did complain about the meal and any extras we had were not charged for.
Great day spa, easy to find in a quiet rural location with plenty of parking. Deal included the usual robe and slippers in addition to a fantastic 'afternoon tea' style lunch with lots of sandwiches, scones and a variety of cakes. Also included a facial and back, neck, shoulder massage. Good quality service, would have liked a bit more time between my treatments and before going home - I did book late though so availability was probably a bit tight. Only real downside on whole day was small number of seats around the swimming pool.
Staff very friendly and helpful. I had an excellent massage, however my friend was extremely disappointed with her upgrade to a hot stone massage - the therapist even rubbed the stones over her vertebrae - a real no-no - and my friend should know, as she teaches hot stone massage. Wifi totally unuseable and although we were offered a room change we were in our dressing gowns and felt we didn't want to move at that time. The meal was lovely, but service slow. The meal felt a bit unbalanced - small starters and mains, with enormous puddings. Breakfast offered just about anything you would want, and very good, Generally the place looked as if it could do with a good clean - thick dust on the blinds in the dining room, ring marks on the surfaces in our room. Woken at 8.30 by drilling in the next room. Probably wouldn't go back, even though we were offered a free stay on a b and b basis due to our experiences.
The most disappointing spar break I have had. We had been looking forward to our spar break as it was a combined Mother's Day/birthday treat but we left wishing we had stayed at home. The food was presented well but it was so basic and tasteless. The most disappointing part of our stay was the staff and the service we received. We were shocked by the poor service especially at dinner time.
Fantastic hotel and spa. The room was massive, pool and jacuzzi were lovely. The evening meal was amazing, even though they were very busy that night, we were served very efficiently and the quality of the dishes were top notch! Breakfast was great too, lots of choice with traditional English, all cooked to perfection, also fruit and cereal and pastries. The back massage was lovely, really relaxing. We both had a wonderful time and will be returning again! Highly recommended, and great deal through last minute .com too!
