Having arrived I was booked in and shown to the sofa to wait.
The salon was very clean and well laid out and welcoming.
My stylist June looked at my hair before washing to determine what I wanted and I was then taken over to the shampoo area.
The chair was fantastic and because the leg part lifted up it took all the strain off my neck which was great.
The shampoo, however, really let the salon down.
The guy didn't rush it or anything but only seemed to wash the top and sides. It wasn't thorough at all.
I was then taken back to the stylists chair and offered a drink of which they had an excellent range of coffee's and cold drinks.
The cut and blow dry was very thorough and very well done and I left feeling wonderful!
If it hadn't been for the very poor shampoo it would have been 5 stars!

Having not had my hair cut in almost a year (I have had so many bad experiences at the hairdressers!), I decided it was time for a trim and a change. I was planning a day trip to Birmingham so I made an appointment at Bad Apple, having been very impressed by their website and reviews. As soon as I got into the salon I felt at ease; the stylist, Pippa, was already waiting for me at front of house and gave me a very warm greeting when I arrived. I was with my boyfriend so they made sure he was seated comfortably and had a couple of mens magazines to ease his boredom! The salon was bright and very clean and trendy looking. I told Pippa what I wanted, a fringe and a trim at the bottom, and also warned about previous hair disasters where hairdressers could not deal with my very curly hair. She assured me that I was in good hands and I went to have my hair washed. I opted for the extra conditioning treatment which I can say was disappointing as it hasn't noticeably improved my hair condition. When it came to the cut, Pippa knew exactly what she was doing and seemed very interested in my conversation. The products she used whilst styling the hair felt very luxurious and were great at holding my style when I left the salon. The blow dry she gave was great, and she listened to my request (unlike other hairdressers) and gently tousled my hair with the straighteners. The end result was fantastic- exactly what I wanted and a million times better than I expected. I am thoroughly pleased with my cut and I left the salon feeling good for the first time ever. Can't recommend this place enough!
i usually do get my hair cut by aid - but with work commitments and a wedding to attend to this weekend - i had to go for a trim - it had been a few months too long and my hair needed a trim. after all it was just to maintain my style and not a completely new style so how wrong could another stylist get it. usually by visits are spot on - but on this visit - i was informed the stylist was running late and he was running quite late which i understood since it does happen. Finally it was my time - Kevin (hairdresser) asked if i was maintaining or changing and several times i stressed i have been trying to grow my hair for a long time and would like just a trim. Trim being less than half an inch. Having removed my glasses i allowed for him to run wild for then for him to then finally present me with my length of hair being short - more than a trim - a very short side fringe which i cannot even place to the side because it is so short - and i asked for a super sleek straight finish and got semi - i also had a pre conditioning treatment which in all honesty was a waste of money because my hair feels more dry than when i shampoo and condition my hair at home. The whole experience was very rushed. and i ended up saying it was ok - to avoid going into a heated discussion of how it is all wrong - since the end conclusion i would just now need to allow my hair to grow back. Very disappointed and now just wish i did not go to another stylist.
Never, ever have I been to the hairdressers and felt so fabulous about my hair! Gemma and Jason where bubbly and know exactly what they where doing, left the salon with straight glossy locks (very different from the dry, bleached highlighted curly mess I went in with). Was particularly impressed with Jason as being mixed race my hair is VERY VERY CURLY and he straightened so well yet with body and style. Definitely worth the higher costs, would put my hair in their hands any day :)
Fantastic! Plucked up the courage to try another colour tech- and was definately worth the risk - Adam - brilliant, superb job ! My cut was by Aid - always delivers and ensures he follows your cut desire!
Definately both know their trades and would most highly recommend!
Thanks guys - no more trips to the Wirral!
