The place is lovely - clean, relaxing and glamorous. I felt welcomed upon arriving and it's a really nice touch that they bring you a drink and a little snack on a gold tray.
However, the heated bed that you have your wax on meant that during my Hollywood wax the wax wasn't setting properly and it ended up being very painful. She put the air con on to try make the room less hot but as I was only in my bra I was quite cold. The lady doing my treatment did apologise but insinuated numerous times that it was painful because of me - that I was 'clammy', 'tensing' or 'hormonal'. While this may have been true to an extent (the heat of the bed and room definitely stopped the wax from setting initially which made for the most painful waxing I've ever experienced, hence me being unable to relax and the coldness of the room meant my skin was tensing anyway), her insistence that I was the problem made me feel a bit awkward and unwelcome. I didn't feel comfortable airing my dissatisfaction with the lady after that as she quite clearly wanted me to be the problem rather than her/the salon so I just left as soon as the treatments were over.
When I got home I saw that the parts she had done were extremely patchy; most of the hairs on my right side were still there and it generally looks less tidy than when I went in.
The leg wax was fine - of normal pain level and a few hairs left here and there but nothing that bad. Underarms were okay too.
The salon's quite new so I'm sure they'll amend everything mentioned in time and it will be a lovely place to go.
