I have been a regular client at Kate's Salon for approx 2 years, and have always been quite happy with the service etc.
However my last visit was disappointing to say the least. I made my appointment for a root tint only, through Treatwell asking for Lacey who is a graduate and charging £23.50 I could have paid on line but opted to pay in the salon.
I arrived on time, said hi to Kate who didn't actually respond or maybe I just didn't hear her.
Lacey did the root tint, offered me coffee etc. then I waited the allotted time for colour to take. All was fine although I did perceive a slightly frosty atmosphere, but this could just have been me being over sensitive, and they just weren't chatty Monday morning!
Anyway colour was washed off by Helen the junior, Lacey then part dried my hair which was fine as I only booked in for the colour. I had explained why I only wanted the colour and not a cut as I am trying to grow my hair and would have liked some advise but didn't get a response.
When I came to pay Lacey asked for £30, I said I thought it was less than that she said no a root tint is £30. I paid also gave get a tip?!?!
But came away feeling annoyed. When I got home I rang the Salon and Lacey answered I explained about the price and expecting it to be £23.50 only to be told that I was Kate's client and therefore the charge was £30, even though Kate had nothing to do with me that morning.....literally!
I pointed out that I made the booking with Lacey and therefore I should have been charged accordingly and if I'd paid on line it would have only been £23.50. She then pointed out that she would have asked for the difference on my arrival at the salon.
Some hairdressers seem to think it is a given to charge whatever suits on the day, well this is one customer who will not be back.
