Myself and my daughter were booked in for a back, neck and shoulder massage. This was a gift for my birthday. On the voucher it stated that we would have used of robes and slippers, use of the sauna and gym plus a cream tea. When we arrived we were told to find our way to the relaxation suite. Relaxing it was not! Hard benches, no relaxing music and no one to receive us. Ten minutes after we got there a young lady came in and gave us a form to complete and left. She came back with another lady and took us to the treatment room, we had not been given robes or slippers. We were told to remove our tops etc but leave our trousers on. We just had to put our clothes on a chair and clamber onto the bed face down. The two ladies returned to give us the massage which lasted for about 20minutes. My daughter's bed did not have a face hole so she found that difficult. The massage was quite heavy handed and my daughter had a very sore back for the full weekend. When it was over the ladies told us to get dressed and they would take us to the lounge. We had had oil massaged onto us but were not offered a shower nor use of the sauna never mind the gym! As we found the relaxation room very uncomfortable we opted to go to the lounge area to have the cream tea. We ordered the tea and were given a pot of tea and two scones with jam and cream. The scones had obviously been put in the microwave to warm up and try to soften (we are WI members and know a thing or two about scone making!!). They were not a good scone. We were not happy with our experience at Hallmark and would certainly not recommend it or return for another session. This was very disappointing as it was a birthday gift for a special birthday and did not live up to expectations.
