Excellent spa day with 2 treatments and afternoon tea included. This was a pampering day for myself and my friend. The booking process with the hotel was easy and efficient and we were offered treatment slots together or on our own. I chose together. We easily booked in with the hotel receptionist but where to go and that there was a £5 refundable locker fee was not mentioned. After some prompting the receptionist finally collected some robes for us and directed us to the changing rooms. These changing rooms were small and littered which were disappointing especially as there were 4 people already in we had nowhere to change. It was only after chatting to these other guests that we obtained a locker key on there departure and we could finally get changed. We changed and wandered through reception to the treatment room to checkin again with the therapy staff. Unfortunately the computer system let the spa staff down and she said we were an hr early. In fact once we had left and found the bar she came running out to say there had been a mix up , she had booked in the wrong couple into our slot of 12.30. However we had already been served a drink so we said just leave it now we will come to the later slot. When 1.30pm arrived we were taken into the relaxation area and filled in a questionnaire about our general health. This we did happily and then the 2 staff asked for more detail as I have a few health issues. The staff were thorough and this maximised the experience. We were taken to the treatment room for a facial and head, neck and lower back massage. The therapists were helpful and reassuring explaining in detail the treatments which were fantastic and relaxing. After an hour we were ready to go back to the bar area for afternoon tea. This we did though the whole area was cold and sitting in your robe we started to suffer. On the arrival of a wedding party we felt somewhat exposed and asked to be moved to somewhere more discreet. The bar staff were great and moved us quickly. This they had to do again as the second area was by the door and we became frozen, just too cold. We opted to get changed so we could enjoy such a gorgeous selection of finger sandwiches and cakes. The changing rooms had old used robes discarded around the floor with used slippers and again lots of litter, very disappointing. We returned to our tea in a 3rd area of the bar and happily munched away. The bar staff finally turned on the blower but at 5pm it was too late and we were still perished. We enjoying our treatments and tea and the afternoon was a great treat for Xmas.
Beth was fantastic and I told her that was the best massage I had ever had. She was perfect!
