Hi, I’m Becky! Or as the Boss calls me Rebecca In 2014 I was fortunate enough to gain my first job as one of the four then apprentices here at Hush Hair & Beauty just 16 years old and straight out of school. My early Hush years involved an awful amount of Sweeping, Mopping, polishing, Dusting, hoovering, and I'm certain I made a thousand cups of tea a day. I quickly understood how Cinderella felt. every day I was witnessing hair dressing miracles, James and his team were exactly what I wanted to be. Day after day, I would watch and listen to everything. And to my advantage I quickly become the go to apprentice for the colour specialist. This enabled me to not only see what they mixed, how they mixed it and now I could. I was doing the mixing and following the instructions which I had written down. This arrangement worked very well for me and the various colourists as I gained the knowledge that I so craved and they had more time to dedicate to smoking. Win Win With the help and guidance of James the salon owner and salon artistic Director I quickly moved from my Level 2 Apprenticeship onto Level 3. I have now moved from Stylist up to Creative Stylist, which I love. I have a creative passion for cutting both women and men’s hair. Bold colours are also my favourite, along with balayage. I love seeing the transformative stages during the process and at the end! as my work is admired and appreciated. After studying and gaining the Loreal advanced Colour qualification, it helps fortify my knowledge and galvanised my confidence. With this gained I am now ready to start with L’oreal Colour Specialist Degree which will give me the highest qualification in hair colour across the industry at a degree level. A comprehensive understanding into the science and technology behind loreals hair colour. Hush has provided the training and opportunity,
I was 14 when I started in the hair industry, then qualified at 17 and I have not looked back! Six years later, I have grown to love short hair styles and really enjoy bold colours. I have attended many creative courses focusing cutting and new colouring techniques. This has helped me perfect my skills amazingly. Also working with brands like Kerastase and L’oreal, I have gained a generous amount of knowledge which has enabled me to work with different hair types and hair textures.
I’ve been in the hair industry from the age of 16 and have grown from strength to strength over the past 9 years! My passion is for cutting and colouring, especially blondes and balayages. I’ve managed to grow a pretty respectful clientele. Some of my greatest knowledge comes from attending L’Oreal Creative Colour Courses, along with Goldwell Master Stylist Courses too. In the last few years, I have been able to assist on photoshoots for hair extensions and also been apart of behind the scenes Midlands Fashion Week. My favourite part of hairdressing is making people look and feel confident and happy and helping them through there hair journey to achieve their goals!
