3rd time here, always a friendly welcome at reception.
I was taken straight away to have my hair washed with no consultation however. Which left me concerned the stylist wouldn’t know my natural hair type/style and how it sits.
The hair wash and head massage was amazing, definitely the best bit!!
My consultation happened once my hair was washed, a 30 second chat, I showed a picture too.
The cut itself was done in silence which was fine, but the manner in which it was done was really rough, my head was yanked all over the place, and for someone who is pretty laid back, I found it very intense!
The end result was good, lots of weight taken out as requested, however way more than the discussed 1 inch was taken off, I was never asked where I parted my hair so was given a side parting and the heavier fringe I requested was nowhere to be seen. I also have a lot more layering than discussed. Honestly by that point I didn’t feel comfortable to ask anything.
I felt the stylist didn’t listen really, was disinterested and ready to get out for the day.
The end result isn’t awful, just not what I wanted and I am looking forward to the layers growing out!
I feel bad writing this as I have had two wonderful experiences at this salon with another stylist, but think it’s always best to be honest (even though I was a wimp And scared to do this in person!).
