I had a pretty bad experience at this salon. Firstly, the therapist couldn't get my existing gel polish off by soaking so she scrubbed and buffed at my nails and cuticles making them sore and bloody and my nails thin. Then, when she applied my new polish colour it rippled/went wavy under the lamp (I'm told this is caused by not allowing the first coat to cure properly/applying layers too thickly). She tried to just paint over it and carry on,but I had to ask her to remove it - there was no way it could be saved. It looked horrendous. Then another therapist took over and changed the lamp they were using. She couldn't get this polish off either (think it must be to do with the remover they used as never had this problem elsewhere). Cue more buffing and scraping. By the time I left, my nails were paper thin and my cuticles bleeding. A 45 min appointment turned into nearly 2 hours. I was left with an uneven result that lasted one day before chipping. Both therapists were apologetic, but didn't seem particularly skilled. I have gel polish done twice a month and they were the most unsure of what they were doing therapists I've ever encountered. I was so desperate to get out of there by the time she was finished (my lunch hour had turned to two hours) that I didn't complain, but should have. I was offered a free soak off next time but don't think I would trust them to do it. The whole experience wasn't helped by a lady - not sure if she was customer or staff, talking/ panicking to my second therapist throughout the treatment about the flight she was booking and what time should she be at the airport. Very intrusive and not relaxing. I don't usually write reviews but was dissatisfied enough this time to feel compelled to. Definitely expected more from a 'nice' salon in Kensington.
