Overall good experience - I find the Lycon wax (which doesn't use strips) a bit more painful but gets the job done quicker so it's all down to your preference! They did a good job and were diligent in ensuring all hair was removed, plus the wax is good value for money. I was a bit concerned that disposable gloves weren't worn - these should be used with all customers to prevent any skin-to-skin infection.
Bikini Waxing
I get an underarm wax every couple of weeks and have done so for a number of years. After a particularly busy week resulting in forgetting to book with my usual salon until there was no space, I thought I would give this new salon a go! I can’t fault the staff or the cleanliness, as both were great, but rather than the usual hot wax (melted, applied and pulled off on its own), they used a roll on hot wax.
The procedure was painful to say the least (and I usually have a very high pain threshold for waxing)! The roll on wax felt like strips getting pulled off during application and even worse when pulled off with a strip. The lady was accurate and used several strips/tweezers to ensure that all the hair was removed and followed this with a “cooling cream” which also seemed to sting a lot more than usual.
Several hours later, my underarms are still stinging much more then usual and I have been unable to sleep. I’ve been out of bed twice so far to apply soothing cream and once trying not to be sick from the pain. Although the staff were great, I would not recommend getting waxed here with the current method used.
