Since my first rating after a visit back in June, I have returned twice. This rating is based on my second and third visit for a haircut.
Please note that this is not a remark on the stylists' ability to cut hair well. They do a beautiful job. I can't rate them lower than 2 stars overall because, to their credit, they do provide a great haircut.
My issues lie in everything that surrounds the haircut. For example, in my last haircut, there was a woman sat in the middle of the salon, with her stylist using the mirror of a different stylist about 10 feet ahead of him, because they had overbooked.
In my instance, I came in for a haircut + blow-dry, which has always been £34. This time, the stylist finishes the cut and whispers to me in a slightly embarrassed tone that I only paid for a haircut. Pulling up the booking, I realised that they've changed the pricing without notice. Now a blow out is an extra £26, making the true total £50. The stylist then proceeded to be quite pushy in trying to coerce me to spend the extra money. When I declined, he tried to sell me a deal that would also include hair colour for £100.
I feel this, among many other small details over the past 2 visits, have been quite manipulative. I was on my way to being a loyal and vocal fan of Joelle Shades. Instead, I will not be returning.
I booked an appointment with Samuel the senior stylist. It was my first visit and I was impressed with the haircut. Samuel was friendly and followed my instructions.
Went for a Balayage and left extremely satisfied. Friendly and professional staff who take pride in their work. Very rare to find such serious and professional hairdressers. Although I hadn't booked a blow dry in my package, Samuel kindly did one as an extra bonus. Would 100% recommend.
