I have just had a recurrence of a injury (with the associated referred pains) from about six years ago which was treated by a specialist NHS physiotherapist at the time. Since the original treatment I have been using the exercises given to me and visiting the BSO but the recent injury was too much to bear or deal with myself and I have been referred back to the NHS physiotherapist as soon as the waiting list allows.
When you visit the GP in great pain but know there will be a wait for treatment you need help but from a trusted source until the NHS appointment and Karen was able reduce the pain after an initial visit and will help me manage it until I am seen by the NHS. Actually, based on a comparison between the techniques Karen used and the original therapist, I think
there will be little or no difference in the treatment except for cost and the fact that the NHS physios will have less time and are not holistic with their approach.
Karen was very attentive, taking the time to find out what areas gave me trouble as well as explore my muscles herself to get a strong idea of what I needed and how best to work with my body. The pressure was perfect - painful but in a way that felt wonderful and much needed (!) - and Karen was friendly, checking in with me to make sure all was ok. There was a lot of parking nearby and it was easy to find. The interior of the building and the room itself wasn't overly inviting, however that was easily forgotten and at such a good price it didn't feel disproportionate. I would definitely come back!
Came in last night to deal with the horrible knots and aches in my shoulders and neck â Karen not only alleviates SO much of the pain by the end of the session, but found knots in muscles I didn't even know existed! Very impressed with her knowledge of the muscles and the anatomy, she was always happy to answer any questions I had about how X muscle influences Y muscle, incredibly friendly. Already booking my next sessions, hands down one of the best massages I've had!
