This was the first time I had shellac done, unfortunately it wasn't a great experience. My appointment was at 1.15pm, in my lunch break. I arrived at 1.05pm and the reception told me I just missed the lady who would do my nails. She called her and couldnt get hold of her but told me to wait downstairs. I called her as well as I wanted to make sure that my appointment is still happening. She arrived at 1.15pm, so that was fine. She mentioned she went on lunch and asked me to choose a colour for my nails and then dissapeared into a room. After 5 minutes waiting she was still not with me, so I called her to let her know I'm on my lunch break and need to go back to work on time.
When she was about to finish with my nails, I was sitting there already for over 45 minutes. She noticed that the gel came off for some reason. She apologised and asked me to come back in the evening as the result didn't look good. The nails really didn't look nice and one nail was not painted at all, however I had to leave back to work and she had another customer waiting. I was really not happy with the nails and how the appointment went and because I had to go back again in the evening I asked her if I could get a discount for trouble I had. She agreed we will deal with the payment in the evening. When I got there in the evening again, she apologised again and said she would do them all over again after looking at them. I agreed even though I was thinking I just wanted the colour to be removed and then go as I had already so much trouble with it and wasted so much time. She used a different colour this time and when she finished, the nails did look a lot better. When it came to the payment she wanted to charge me the normal price and I had to remind her of the trouble I had and she agreed to take 5 pounds off. To be honest, this really put me off and made me think I wouldnt want to go back there. The lady was friendly in general and apologetic but since I had so much trouble with this appointment I think it is only normal to offer a discount or even not charge at all as a goodwill gesture. Also she didn't move the cuticles back properly which has an effect on the look of the colour on the nail. Overall I'm not really satisfied with this visit, possible that this was just bad luck, but unfortuantely this is what happend there today.
Would be nice to have a larger selection of colours. Also, it was not specified that the manicure and pedicure were not full service (ie water bath, scrubbing, etc)
