I saw a senior stylist at Gro Brixton and she was lovely, as well as very talented.
I had the best wash of my life and she knew exactly what style would suit my face. I felt like I was in safe hands the whole time!
Definitely my new spot!
I had a rare day off and took advantage of the "off-peak" special price at Gro. It was £38.50 for a T-section of highlights.
I can't fault the stylist, she kept me informed at all stages and was nice and friendly.
The salon is huge with lots in inspiring quotes on the ceilings.
However....
Personally I think a T- section should be a lot wider than what I was given (I am a trained hairdresser). I had roughly 15 -20 foils in, the hairline section was less than a centimeter wide. Across the top she used wide foils that ran the width of my head, which meant I only got about 4 very fine foils on either side, totaling about 1.5 cm width.
Yes I probably should have expected this for the cheap price, but I assumed I would get at least 3cm of root coverage.
I have nothing bad to say about the colour, a perfect match! Just wish I had more of it done.
I should also add, spur of the moment I requested a trim too. Little did I know this would cost me £50. Full price, even though I was already entitled to a blow dry in the T-section cost.
They need to offer a combo price, no point having a cheap off-peak price if you then have to pay almost twice as much for a trim.
Overall, great colour & cut, just a shame about the price.
I am a bit of a blow-dry addict, and have visited salons across London, the UK and the world – giving a salons marks depending on the good (and the bad!) blow drys that I've received. I'd say that all of the stylists I've had at Gro Brixton have given me a great blow-dry, and even though I can't get an appointment with my regular stylist because she is away, I've been really impressed with the other people who I've been booked in with. I'll be back!
