Excellent visit!
Had a lovely relaxing time here and my hairdresser listened to what I wanted and gave me exactly that (obviously tailored to my hair type). He seemed to really care about his work.
Couldn't ask for anymore.
Standard quality. Had a blow dry and a haircut. Standard quality. Had a blow dry and a haircut. Standard quality. Had a blow dry and a haircut. Standard quality. Had a blow dry and a haircut.
I had a great haircut and blow dry, exactly what I asked for! Really chilled atmosphere, I didn't feel rushed and all the staff were lovely. I will definitely go again.
My stylist George is 5 stars without question! He gave me a superb cut that was exactly what i was hoping for to add some style back into my flat bob. He gave me an interesting, asymmetrical cut that was still within reach for me to style on my own, and a real reflection of his creativity and talent.
As for everything else - dreadful! i originally booked for 4pm on saturday, only to show up for my appointment and be told it had been changed to 4:30pm. No one contacted me in spite of having my phone number and email address, and most importantly they kept going on about how it was only 30 minutes later which to me really wasn't the point. Unfortunately i was not able to take the 4:30pm, so opted for the first appt on Sunday morning. I arrived to find contractors working in the salon to finish some carpentry work on the stairs. At first i thought they would just be finishing up, but by the time i left the salon 2 hours later they were still hammering, sawing, and drilling away which was really loud and echoy in the loft style premises, and most offensive while i was having my hair washed because my head was in a ceramic bowl!
To be fair, George the stylist at the very beginning when i walked in was very apologetic about the scheduling problem the day before and offered me a free hydrating treatment to try and make good on the frustration. This was a really nice touch and i thought meant we could put it all behind us. As the treatment went on and the banging and powertools continued, i really felt for my stylist as i could tell he was absolutely livid at the noise and at one point even asked the workmen to take a 15 minute break for some peace.
Finally when it came time to pay, the man who i assume was the salon manager gave me a cost for the haircut/blowdry that was more than the wahanda price i had booked, and then did not even offer me any discounts on the treatment or the product i was also buying which i felt would have been a nice gesture considering the fact my entire salon experience was backed by a soundtrack of powertools.
I LOVE my cut, and LOVED my stylist. I am really hoping the management can sort out the scheduling and repair schedule so that the salon can be a place of relaxation.
