For a first timer I have nothing to compare it to, just what I would have loved to see. Arriving at Canary Wharf I felt lost and I was a little late, so got a taxi, to my surprise the London flotation tank co. Was in an industrial estate. The reception is in a little picky reception room, the saving grace was the friendly staff. And of course the curiosity to see what this experience that friends were all talking about. The room the flotation tank sits in is basic, no pretty comforts. It does the job, but you don't feel pampered. A shower in a corner and the pod in the middle of the room.
The water is very salty if it gets in your eyes it's unpleasant. The salt makes you float and once the pod is closed you lie there, you can hear your heart beating and with music and lights on you start to relax, but after 60 minutes I was happy to get out. I am not sure what the benefits are, but I'm not the kind of person that knows how to relax and I must admit while I was floating, I was mentally making a list of house work needing to be done.!! When and if I go again I hope it will be in a more posh place where when you come out you feel happy to have had that experience. But well done to the two lovely staff who made the experience tolerable.
