Had a gel manicure done about a month ago, the lady doing my nails was quite sweet and she did an OK job of the nails, although the polish was a bit thicker than I’d like but I figured it was a minor issue. She did cut four of my cuticles a bit too much and they bled which led to them being sore for a week or so after but I didnt mind too much. These things happen.
Booked another appointment via Treatwell a couple of weeks ago to get my nails done today in time for Halloween weekend and when I got to the salon it was closed and nobody was answering the phone. I wouldn’t have minded if my appointment had been cancelled but I didn’t get a call, text or email from them to advise that my pre-paid appointment couldn’t go ahead and the salon was closed. Had to call Treatwell who tried to call them too but couldn’t get through so they’ve said I’ll get a refund for the appointment. No cash loss but a complete waste of my time and quite disappointing as I’d been excited about getting my nails done again all week.
All in all, it’s an ok salon but the painful and bloody cuticles plus this recent experience means I won’t be going back as I really can’t stand unreliability. I couldn’t get an appointment anywhere else today because it was so short notice so I’m going to have to try my luck with a walk in appointment somewhere else tomorrow. Many more nail places in the area so no need to risk wasting time by showing up for an appointment at a closed establishment.
The ladies working there were very kind and the job was good. However I had to wait a total of 30 minutes as they were behind, making me late to my birthday dinner!
