I visited Lucas salon last week with the £23 voucher for a cut, blow dry and treatment. I was slightly early but they started right away which was great for me. Marco cut my hair and i feel he listened to what I wanted and then he made his recommendations which were spot on for me. I really appreciated the advise he gave and he took time with me looking through magazines so I could choose the right cut. The treatment and head massage were great and I left really happy and confident with my new length something which doesnt normally happen! I normally leave the hairdressers feeling like what I have said has been ignored and quite upset! For the price the value is amazing, I also left with some good advice on how to get my hair cut next time based on my face shape, I think I will be daring to go shorter. Really happy with the whole experience especially considering the price, thanks again!
The staff was nice and I am very happy with my cut, highlights and blow dry!
Went in this morning. They were very accommodating and helpful. A really liked my cut and I was asked several times if the length was what I wanted. I was offered several cups of coffee by the smiling staff. I was offered a discount on several of the treatments while there however they weren't pushy. Also they did not try to over sell the products they used as I find this a bit off putting when other salons do this. I would definitely go back as I thought they tried to make your time there special.
I bought a voucher for the half head highlights including a cut & a blowdry at the Luca Salon based on the positive reviews on Wahanda. I was very excited about giving this salon a shot & booked my appointment for 1pm with Marco the following day. When I arrived at the venue on time I was told that Marco popped out & I will need to wait 5 min or so for him to get back. After 15 minutes of waiting I was approached by a girl called Lili who informed me that she will be doing my hair as Marco is stuck in a traffic and may not be back for the next half an hour at least! Not the best start! Having no other options I proceeded with Lili. She didn't speak very good English but still was nice & friendly. Once my hair was done & we proceeded to the wash Lili told me she will need to use the toner to even my hair color out & I had to pay £10 extra for this. (all the salons I had my hair coloured before usualy inluded this in the initial colouring price/voucher). Although I thought this was cheeky, I had to agree with th exra charge as I didnt want my hair to look uneven! I brought some pictures with me to show what kind of hairstyle/haircut I wanted - which was a bit shorter & a few long layers. Pretty simple right!? Unfortnately Lili had not idea what she was doing (despite the fact that had 10 year experience!!!!) she cut my hair too short in one straight line with no style & shape & it looked ridicullous. I was on the verge of tears I had to stop her and ask for someone more serious to come in and try to sort it out somehow;( The salon owner stepped in, he told me that the only way to give my hair length any kind of shape was to go for a longish bob style. So going from long hair to a bob was devastating as you can imagine... I agreed and asked him not to trim any more than half inch. Although he was the owner of the salon, he turned out to be as bad as Lili - the outcome was terrible, uneven cut with one side shorter that the other .....so dissapointed! Having another appointment tomorrow with my ex hairdresser in Brighton next try and sort this mess out. Such a waste of my time and money. Will never go back!
After reading the glowing reviews on Wahanda for Luca salon I decided to purchase a voucher. My voucher included a cut, blow dryer, hair treatment, and head massage. The salon experience that would follow would be the worst of my life. The salon was quite busy when I walked in. I feel that the salon was overbooked and the redemption of my voucher was an afterthought. I was directed to sit on a couch in the waiting area. I was then directed to sit in a salon chair. Then another employee came over and directed me to move from that chair. I waited for approximately twenty minutes. My stylist (Marco) after some time came over, sat me down in a salon chair, and asked what I wanted done to my hair. I told him I wanted 2 inches cut off the overall length, but I wanted to keep my current layers. Marco shampooed my hair, put the hair treatment in, and had me sit underneath a dryer. He said he would be back in 10 minutes to rinse out the hair treatment and do my head massage. About twenty minutes later another individual came over and told me to sit to have my hair treatment taken out. He massaged me head for about 3 seconds, before another woman told him she'd do it. She then rinsed my hair without giving me any massage. She was also quite rough with my head and I was in a great deal of pain. Despite telling her the water that she used to rinse my hair was too cold she did nothing to fix the situation. I did not receive the head massage for which I paid. This woman then took me over to a chair and picked up a pair of scissors. I was shocked! I thought Marco was going to cut my hair. I then told her that I needed to speak to someone about this after she told me she was now going to cut my hair. Marco came over after finishing an argument with the manager. I told him it was unacceptable to switch stylists on a customer without their consent. He then agreed to do my hair and blamed his manager. The hair cut I received from Marco was not what I expected. I couldn't tell in the salon, but when I went to style my hair myself I was horrified. Marco cut very short, chunky, uneven layers into my hair without my consent. I asked to keep my current layers and he ruined my hair! I have since had to go to another salon to have this fixed. At this new salon, the only way to save my hair was to remove three more inches of my hair. My layers are still not completely fixed. The stylist said that Marco messed my hair up so much that it would take another cut for her to fix the layers. I have hair at least five inches shorter than it was on Saturday. I am greatly disappointed and upset about the loss of my hair. Marco did not listen to me at all. The atmosphere in the salon was chaotic. Staff were constantly bickering with each other. I felt that I was being passed and manhandled between stylists with little respect to what I wanted to get out of the experience and my hair cut. It was the most unprofessional salon experience of my life. I do not recommend this salon under any circumstances. It was a disaster.
