*UPDATE*
The below is an honest review of what happened when I visited Luxe, however since this time I have corresponded directly with Donna the owner and we resolved the matter between us. She explained the situation of her hairdresser leaving and apologised for the outcome of my treatment. I have now met the new hairdresser in place Martin (who if you look back on reviews from 2017 has 5 stars). Donna even did my nails for me as a way of apologising and they're lovely. I have been reassured that this won't happen again. I am going to give Luxe another try in a few months time and hopefully put this all behind us.
I had an appointment here a few months back and received an excellent hair cut, so I booked again expecting the same again. It was nothing like before, my booked stylist - I found out half way through- had quit. The woman who did my hair was late to the appointment because she was buying a laptop, she didn't know what I had booked, she didn't appear to have a lot of experience cutting hair either - her technique was interesting.. (Drying my hair half way through and continuing to cut when dry). She took 3 phone calls while on my appointment, they are clearly short staffed. I also got hit in the forehead with the hair dryer a few times and poked in the eye.
It really wasn't an enjoyable experience.. and it over ran by 20 minutes, I was late returning to work. She did her best to reassure me that they're getting a new hair dresser soon, she apologised loads. However I left the salon feeling angry at the waste of my time and concerned that my hair was terrible and I would need to pay at another salon to get it corrected. She had spent the best part of 30 minutes hair drying it into a curl (not what I wanted or asked for) The cherry on top was that she tried to charge me £40 instead of the £29 that I booked it for. I pushed back and only paid £29, which she then said next time call the salon directly, because Treatwell take a cut if you book online. I won't be booking again. More than once I considered telling her to just leave it and I would go with 'unfinished' hair. Thankfully it was raining and the mad curl she had wasted time doing fell out and overall the cut is a bit blunt but okay. I won't be booking this place again based on this experience, if I could find where me original stylist went I'd follow him!
This was my first visit, having booked on the recommendation of a colleague. Renne did my hair and it was lovely. I wasn't expecting a full wash and blow dry but I got great treatment and a great hair cut.
