I had a basic haircut done at McCarthy. The hairdresser was really friendly and helpful, and my haircut just what I wanted. Good value for money!

The salon was really great and staff very friendly. There was a head massage thrown in with the hair wash. The stylist gave good advice on what kind of cut I shoukd go for. The finish of the cut wasn't that grea though, I'm still finding stray long bits of hair!

Lovely place but I am not sure i actually had my hair cut! I asked to keep the length but make sure that all the ratty ends were tidied and cut with more layers. However the man who was cutting my hair seemed very nervous and quite distracted (he took a phone call whilst doing my hair). At the end of the cut I tried to explain that I wanted more cut from the front but he became quite confrontational telling me “well this is what you asked for”. I became very uncomfortable as everyone seemed to be listening so I backed down and left the salon with a great blow-dry but no cut. I would return only because all the other hairdressers seemed great and had good rapport with their clients but I would specifically request to not have the same person again as it was a complete waste of money!
