Bless me, Kay, for it has been seven weeks since my last confession. My sins were the usual. She was training for a half marathon; I was training for the sofa, and winning. The grey had spread since Easter. Small stuff, it turned out. Word had reached the confessional of a ring worn where no ring should go. Purple by the end, at least the colour of penance. The ring was recovered. Not everything came back with it. Kay crossed herself and carried on with my fresh fade. Absolved. Five stars.
