Awkward atmosphere, stern man cut my hair- haircut was good but didn’t blow dry in the style I asked for, staff lacked attentiveness for me and the other girl there who was left with her head in the sink for ages whilst the stylist took a phone call. Good value but I won’t be back.

The address provided doesn't take you to the Salon. It's for a building on the same street but in the dark this was quite hard to find. I tried calling for directions but each time it said 'user busy' after a few rings. When I found the salon it was presented nicely and spotless inside, but neither of the staff said anything to me until I'd been sat there for ten minutes. They both saw me there and glanced over making eye contact several times but didn't say a word. This is bearing in mind my appointment was meant to be right then. I asked another girl sat waiting who told me there was a half an hour delay. This wasn't an issue, I expect evening appointments to be delayed sometimes. I had already allowed half an hour afterwards to get to the restaurant near there that I was going to and to be on the safe side called them to ask for it to be pushed back a further 15 minutes. While I waited I called the Salon phone number again to see if anyone bothered to answer the phone. There was no sound of a phone ringing, and my phone still said the user was busy after a few rings. I don't know how that works? However it was only after that when one of the stylists acknowledged me, and still there was no mention of the fact I was meant to be having my haircut right then. When I was called for my hair cut half an hour later the stylist told me to stand and face the wall while he cut my hair because it would be easier for him. I genuinely thought he was joking because my hair was about 4 inches past my shoulders. This is the first time I have ever stood for a hair cut, even as a child with hair all the way down my back I have never been asked to do that. During my curly blow dry he asked what time I was due to head out (which was 45 minutes after the appointment was originally due to finish). After this he was frantic with my hair which just made me want to get out of there. With all due respect it was in an effort to get me there on time, but the curls fell out almost immediately from leaving the salon so it was pretty pointless. The price was discounted for January so I wasn't too disappointed but if I'd have paid full price it definitely wouldn't have been worth it.
