The location was easy to find and Diego was well informed and friendly. I booked a Sports Massage however I received more of a therapeutic Massage. There was a lot of rubbing and very little pressure. A lot of talking and analysing which took up 15mins of my 45minute appointment. Friendly and relaxing, but I wouldn't recommend for muscle recovery/maintenance for sport.

Booked in for a 60-minute manual lymphatic drainage massage to kick-start a week-long detox. Diego is clearly knowledgeable and there was nothing technically wrong with the massage. Unfortunately, he's one of the most condescending people I've ever met. When I told ticked the box for "stress" on the health history form I elaborated that I had PTSD and anxiety. When he asked me why (already unprofessional) and I told him I was recovering from an abusive relationship, he told that "man troubles" were nothing a bottle of wine and some chocolate couldn't cure. He also said that at 35 I was still young enough to find love again – just one of many comments about my personal life and body which I found increasingly unnerving. When I told him I'd gone to bed at 8pm the previous night after suffering insomnia all week, he told me mockingly that it was "a children's bedtime." If I wasn't already healing well from some very bad personal experiences, Diego's mansplaining would have made me feel stupid and as though all my efforts at self-care were pointless. I would have left before the massage even started if I hadn't pre-paid. I guess it was good value for money given that it overran by an hour, but somebody in the (very noisy) nail salon in the room next door started vacuuming after 90 minutes, not that I was able to relax anyway because Diego was talking loudly about himself throughout the treatment. I won't be going back.
