I started going to Massage Therapies & Bodywork after a knee surgery, never expecting such an incredible service. The staff have gone far beyond what’s expected in handling my recovery with care. It is definitely a place for quality service, professional advice and friendly conversation.
Very good and knowledgable. Would have been 5 stars except we overran hugely (despite the fact I was early) and I’d question the cleanliness of the massage table- there’s a sheepskin style rug on it with the towels on top- not sure how often the sheepskin is washed...
The room was clean, quiet and well-maintained and the therapist clearly had good formal training. I have no doubt about his knowledge of the human body. The price is on par for the type of treatment, so no issues there.
I have had maybe about a hundred massages over the years with many different providers. I have consistent issues with my back that I know are down to my desk job, general bad posture and the sport I do (weightlifting). This is not news to me. I also know from long experience and professional advice what works to resolve these issues. Most providers are able to help and get what the issue is immediately.
The therapist did not listen to the issues I outlined and spent a good deal of time telling me about where he believed the issues came from instead. As a result, he didn't address any of my issues and even after several days there has been no improvement.
I now need to find a provider who will actually listen to me and pay for a new treatment.
