I had a great experience a month ago with Daniela for a colour and came back for a cut with Massimo. They are very good and listen to the client request unlike most hairdressers. I am sure I found my hairsalon for the rest of my life. I love Massimo Giglio :-)
I do want to love this place because Massimo and Daniela were so lovely and Daniela spent a lot of time with my hair......but my hair is awful. I have waited a week in case it improved (she did tell me to give it time to get used to which should have caused me great concern!!) - it sticks up everywhere and the colour is dull. Daniela spent ages putting in lovely fine highlights but then talked me into a darker tint after - it is so dark you cannot see the highlights. Then the cut...we did agree it needed a cut as I have been doing a lot of swimming ...but it has been layered to death - it sticks up and needs washing and styling to death every day and is flat by the evening.....I do take responsibility for not being more assertive but I was carried away by the advice of a lovely hairdresser. Now regrets as it is worse that I ever recall!! The conditioning treatment is lovely and product range is great. The salon is small and friendly....looking at other reviews I think I was just unlucky!!
I visited Massimo Giglio for a cut, blow dry and keratin conditioning treatment. When I arrived at the salon Massimo welcomed me in a warm and friendly manner and sat me down to discuss how I wanted my hair styling. I have very long hair which I have been growing for some time and didn't want to lose too much length. Unlike some hairdressers I have visited, he said this was no problem- he would remove the ends of my hair and create volume by adding some layers. This was exactly what I had wanted!
The wash was good and included a very relaxing scalp massage. The keratin treatment noticeably improved the condition of my hair; it made it softer and gave it a healthy shine. The cut was perfect. I explained to Massimo that I would be attending dinner later that evening and so he took time and effort to give me a great blow-dry which left my hair really voluminous (despite having naturally fine, straight hair).
Massimo is enthusiastic, easy to talk to and very knowledgeable; it's clear that he has a lot of experience in the hairdressing industry. I will be returning to his salon and would certainly recommend it to others!
Massimo was amazing! I absolutely love my haircut and he was so friendly and obviously competent that I trusted him throughout in a way that I never do with new hairdressers.
I was also really impressed with how he listened to me about what I wanted and how I did my hair normally and then he produced a cut that was exactly what I wanted looks wise and also really easy to manage.
Would seriously definitely recommend him! Totally worth the money.
The salon is a small room in Bride Court but well kept and comfy.
I had long hair and wanted quite a short bob, I had brought a couple of pictures of what I wanted but I was seeking professional advice as I have curly hair, rarely straighten it and what I wanted was for straight hair.
The hairdresser, an enthusiastic Italian guy who has trained in Italy, the UK and the US, was helpful. He explained that what I wanted would look awful unless I straighten my hair everyday but that he could do something similar that would look good with curly hair. When he finished I asked him to blow dry it as I don't usually do it myself and to see what it'd look like. I wasn't too sure about the result as it wasn't at all what I originally wanted. But now I've washed my hair and let it dry naturally with the curls, it looks very nice and I'm glad I trusted his judgement.
