A lovely welcome and a wonderful job the stylist did on my new haircut. Bit of a shame the salon was still undergoing building works otherwise I think it would have been full stars. I will go back again though and am thinking about trying other services at the salon.
Ladies' Haircuts
I have had only two Hollywood waxes before and this was my second... and the worst. I was taken into the wax room and I immediately felt uncomfortable as I wasn’t told what to do, it was just expected of me to undress and lie on the bed. I wasn’t used to this as in the past, the staff inform you and give you time to be private. I wasn’t told about not being able to have a wax during the ‘time of the month’- I had to ask (they do not provide a service for those on their period). She also refused to wax certain areas to avoid ‘contamination of the wax’. It was very painful and quick- it took roughly 7/8 minutes, which was great until I realised later she had missed patches of hair and left lots of individual hairs dotted around. I walked away from the table feeling sticky & uncomfortable, as she didn’t remove all of the wax from my skin (it was even on my fingers!). In an attempt to remove the wax, she literally poured baby oil all over me- which didn’t work. The wax has burnt my skin and I have been left with a patch of dry, peeling skin. This was painful for the first few days which happened to be my holiday! :( The staff were very friendly and cheery but the job was very poorly conducted.
