I booked an appointment to have my brows tinted and threaded. I explained to the woman at Menana that my brows' hair growth is rather sparse and I therefore wanted to keep the both the shape and thickness. I told her it that it was ok for her to tidy up my right brow a TINY BIT as it tends to grow out faster than the left one. I specifically asked her to leave both arches as I'm still growing them out, which I very carefully explained and repeated more than once!
After the did the threading, she started tweezing both brows. I was under the impressions that she was tidying up and not actually removing hairs in areas I had asked her to NOT touch. When she had done the ting and handed me a mirror, I was horrified. She had removed hair in ALL the places I had specifically asked her not to. The tint was in a terrible shape. When confronted she said that my brows looked much better in that shape. WHAT THE ACTUAL F!? As many women, I am very specific when it comes to my brows and I never asked her to just do whatever she thought was the best (she didn't even have good brows herself!).
Now I will have to wait months for the hair to grow back when all I wanted was a tint and thread. How is that so impossible to do!?
Please do not use Menana Spa for any eyebrow related "treatments"!!!
However, I can highly recommend iBrows Etc in Marble Arch.
I recently had HD brows at Menana spa at £35, this session lasted for 20-25 minutes, the place is lovely and relaxing with the appropriate music playing in the background, the lady at the desk was the same who did my treatment, I have never had HD brows before, however I researched it thoroughly to ensure it was what I wanted, you are meant to be measured, from nose to edge of brow etc to see where the arch should be, this did not occur or if it did then it was so fast I did not realise. she said she may just thread and not wax until I said I wanted wax as this was part of treatment, she did then wax and thread and then pluck a little, then checked with me on the colouring as I am very blonde I did not want the dark brows that appear on trend. She tinted a little more, and then filled in the brows with powder that was not by HD brows, when I later enquired why from another staff member she stated the HD product for powder are to dark, so they never have any blonde clients? anyway I left feeling disappointment tbh, I had high hopes for this and for the cost I felt it would be more, there was no advice on ways to help my thin brows grow or the up keep only to return in 2 weeks for a 'maintenance' at £13.
in future I will get a regular wax, and tint as this is NO difference to what the HD brows promise, so if you are considering having this, then id advise saving your money and having a basic tint & wax.
