Was told to arrive 15 minutes later than booked, which was a convenience actually, but upon arrival was waiting another 10 minutes. The salon seemed very understaffed and as if everyone was in a hurry to get appointments done before they'd begun!
The hairdresser i was with was nice enough, but not as warm as many i've had cuts with before. Wasn't offered a drink or to have my coat taken either, which was a surprise since that's common practice in many other salons i've visited.
Then came the hairwash, which was mediocre, not particularly relaxing but not uncomfortable either. However, i was a bit annoyed that they didn't even put a towel round my shoulders; got up from the basin with wet hair causing water to drip down my back!
Brushing the hair hurt, apparantly the hairdresser didn't know to hold hair to stop it tugging (basic knowledge).
The actual haircut was pretty good, though i wouldn't say it was amazing. Overall i'd say the experience was not particularly bad, but i've had many better treatments at other salons.
As per usual had a really good experience, a good cut and blow dry in a professional salon with friendly staff for a fraction of the price of their competitors. You can see why they won salon of the year.
I was made to feel very welcome by the staff but the salon lacked atmosphere as I was the only customer in there, which I found odd on a Friday lunchtime. my hair was cut & dried ok - I have had better haircuts but you do get what you pay for & it wasn't an expensive salon.
